Drink Driving Case Ends With 12 Month Ban Rather Than 22 Months
Appearing at Poole Magistrates Court, Mr P was facing a significant period of disqualification after giving a drink driving reading of 82mcg in breath; the legal limit being 35mcg. Sentencing guidelines suggested a disqualification period of 22 months, however, the case was further aggravated by Mr P having passengers in the car at the time of driving.
Instructions for mitigation were taken by Carl Millar and upon them be presented the court, a disqualification period of 12 months, rather than the probable 22 months, was imposed. Mr P was also offered the drink drivers rehabilitation course, which brought the disqualification period down to 9 months.
