Drink Driving Babysitter Leaves Child Home Alone
A babysitter who locked a child in the house as he rode a moped over the drink driving limit has been handed down a suspended prison sentence.
The drink driving rider, Andrzej Huczuk made a full confession to the police about the child after they saw him riding a moped without a helmet on.
The police officers followed him, but owing to traffic conditions lost sight of him. A short time later they spotted him hiding behind a house.

When being questioned by the police Huczuk told them that he had bought the moped on Ebay 4 days earlier. He also told them about the primary school aged child that he had left alone in the house.
Mr Huczuk was breathalysed and was found to have 61mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit for drink driving is 35mg.
Appearing at the Magistrates’ Court in Nottingham, Mr Huczuk pleaded guilty through his Polish interpreter to drink driving, child neglect, riding in breach of his licence and not wearing protective head gear.
In dealing with the case, the Magistrates imposed a sentence of 12 weeks custody, suspended for 1 year, a 17 month ban from driving, attendance with probation officers; along with having to pay £85 costs and an £80 government surcharge.
